Membership categories

Vital’s membership is representative of all pharmacy supply chain industry trading partners, which fall under the following categories:

Primary Wholesaler

Full-service wholesaler/distributor of pharmaceutical, over-the-counter (OTC), and other pharmacy-related products to the retail trade, hospitals, or similar institutions.

Self-Distributing Pharmacy Chain

An entity that owns, operates, and/or franchises a minimum of thirty (30) retail stores engaged in selling pharmaceutical products, sundries, and health and beauty aids to the public, with at least one distribution centre.

Specialized Distributor

A licensed wholesaler whose primary business is the distribution of a limited category of pharmaceutical products to the retail trade, hospitals, or similar institutions.

Manufacturer

Manufactures pharmaceutical, OTC, and other pharmacy-related products for sale to wholesalers, distributors, and retail, corporate, institutional, or hospital accounts.

Affiliated Member or Service Provider

Supplies services to the pharmaceutical industry or to pharmacy wholesalers/distributors.
